LocationSensical.net is primarily based in multiple redundant sites throughout Docklands, London, U.K. We locate within the state-of-the-art facilities of Europe's most advanced independant colocation company, Telecity Group PLC. Security Each site is manned 24/7 by trained, uniformed security staff to provide a deterrent to unauthorized access. CCTV, with time-lapse videoing, both internally and externally provides information to a security control center on possible intrusion. Proximity cards control access within the facility. Power A sophisticated power distribution system for resilience. Multiple mains electricity feeds are supported by a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system with generator backup. All power back-up systems are individually maintained and checked on a routine basis. Redundant n+1 equipment provides spare capacity to enable maintenance and repairs without interruption to customer services. Controlled Conditions All facilities operate computerised building management systems that monitor and remotely operate sensors covering electrical, mechanical, fire detection and water leakage systems. ConnectivitySensical.net has superb redundant Internet connectivity via multiple ISPs including C4L and NetConnect Ltd. All our ISPs are members of LINX (The London Internet Exchange Ltd.) as well as other IXPs which allows them to provide Sensical.net with tier 2 multi-homed IP transits offering speed and diversity through peerings with 1000s of other ISPs and multiple private peering agreements with global communications providers such as AboveNet, Level3 and NTT Communications. LINX is the largest and most successful Internet exchange point in Europe with a world-class reputation for quality, performance and technical excellence. LINX handles over 95% of the UK's Internet traffic and nearly half of the total Internet routing table is available at LINX. This guarantees high performance access to Sensical.net's servers. LINX Benefits The benefits of Sensical.net's direct connection with LINX are two-fold: Firstly, London is an important topological focus of the international Internet. The majority of transatlantic submarine cables land on the coast of the United Kingdom, and it is common practice for carrier traffic using these facilities to be back-hauled from the coast to international exchanges in London. In addition, there are multiple submarine cables from the UK to all coastal European countries. Secondly, being located at an IXP means that Sensical.net customers can benefit from direct access to and from other partners and customers located within ths IXP's networks. Almost half of the total Internet routing table is available by peering at LINX. The LINX "collector" router contains some 57,000 routes which are obtained purely by peering with LINX members. This compares with the full Internet routing tables of some 128,000 routes available at the LINX transit router. |
