2. How to send email using a different identity in Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2010to top

By default, when you compose a new email in Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2010, the email will be sent from your primary email address. If you only have one email address or identity this is fine. However, if you want to send email using different identities, then you will need to select the email address of the identity you want to use each time. In this example, we show how to send email on behalf of a shared identity called sales@mycompany.com.

  1. First start a new email as usual. Then we need to ensure the From box is shown. So, as per the picture below, click on the Options ribbon and then the From button in the ribbon. Then click the From button to the left of your email address and finally click Other E-mail Address....

  2. Then the window below will appear. Type in the email address of the identity you want to use and click OK.

    From part 2

  3. Your selected identity will now appear next to the From button, as highlighted in the image below. You can then compose the rest of your email as usual by selecting a recipient, entering an email title and body and clicking the Send button.

Important: Always remember to check this highlighted area when you are composing an email, becuase it shows the identity you are currently using.

    From part 3

  4. Next time you want to write a new email or reply to existing email using this identity you can click on the From button and select the identity you want to use directly, as per the picture below.
